About the role

Join Bank of America’s Global Markets Credit team in London for a ten-week Summer Analyst internship. You will assess counterparty credit risk, prepare credit documentation, present recommendations, and support credit initiatives while gaining formal training, on-the-job guidance, mentorship, and experience delivering work for a Global Markets credit portfolio.

The Team and Programme

  • Assess credit risk across counterparty portfolios and structured trades originated within Global Markets.
  • Manage the credit process from due diligence through underwriting, approval, closing, and monitoring.
  • Align to a Global Markets Credit portfolio and complete actual desk deliverables during the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative credit analysis to assess counterparty credit risk.
  • Compile credit memos and risk-rating scorecards for new and existing clients.
  • Present recommendations to senior colleagues in written and verbal formats.
  • Support in-flight projects and initiatives contributing to the Enterprise Credit mandate.

Training and Development

  • Receive extensive formal training at the start of the ten-week programme.
  • Benefit from on-the-job support, educational speaker events, and mentorship throughout the internship.

Eligibility

  • Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Complete all final exams, coursework, and graduation requirements between September 2027 and July 2028.
  • Be available to join the programme from June to August 2027.
  • Be on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent.

Skills

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
  • Show an inquisitive nature and keen interest in financial markets and products.
  • Proficiency in another language is desirable but not required.
  • Moderate Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency is desirable.
