About the role

Six-month industrial placement in Bank of America’s Dublin Global Technology team, working as a Software Engineer Analyst. You will design, develop, test, and support scalable applications, collaborate with technical and business colleagues, and gain formal training, mentorship, and on-the-job experience. Placement intakes run from January to July or March to September 2027.

Team and Role

• Global Technology designs, develops, and supports applications serving the bank’s products and services across more than 30 countries.
• The placement provides full-time Technology Analyst experience, with integration into one team and opportunities to contribute immediately.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain technology applications using Java, C++, .NET, Python, web services, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Evaluate and promote responsible AI use across development, following enterprise security, privacy, risk, and governance standards.
• Translate client requirements into technical specifications and support business process reengineering.
• Code solutions, complete unit tests, and ensure robust integration with overall applications and systems.
• Contribute to CI/CD delivery events, including pull requests, issue triage, conflict resolution, documentation, and release notes.

Programme and Training

• The industrial placement lasts six months and runs between January and September 2027.
• Intake one runs January to July 2027; intake two runs March to September 2027.
• Training includes formal sessions, on-the-job support, educational speaker events, and mentorship throughout the programme.

Eligibility

• Applicants must pursue a bachelor’s degree with completion scheduled between September 2027 and July 2028.
• Candidates should be on track for at least a 2:1 degree classification or equivalent.
• The academic curriculum must include a placement, with availability for full-time work throughout the six-month programme.

Recruitment and Progression

• Applications and assessments operate on a rolling basis once applications open; assessments may begin before the deadline.
• Strong performers may receive full-time employment offers commencing July 2028, with some January or April starts available.
• Successful candidates must be available for the offered start date; programme dates and full-time placement dates cannot be deferred.
