About the role
The Commodities Summer Analyst Program offers training and rotations across commodity desks including sales and trading. Interns gain experience in deal structuring, market analysis, and client relationship management within global financial markets.
Program Overview
- Formal training and rotations through commodity desks: structuring, sales, oil, natural gas, power, investor products.
- Opportunity to work across sales and trading functions in commodities.
- Focus on building client relationships and matching services to client needs in sales.
- Support trading teams by generating trade ideas, monitoring markets, and shadowing traders.
- Work on commodity transactions including deal valuation and structuring.
- Develop marketing presentations, models, and reports to support business development.
Responsibilities
- Assist in structuring and origination of commodity deals.
- Support market strategists and traders integrating fundamental views with trading strategies.
- Develop marketing materials and financial models.
- Analyze historical data and generate reports to attract interest in commodities.
- Engage with portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders.
- Participate in internal and external discussions on structured deal solutions.
Qualifications
- Pursuing bachelor's degree with graduation between Nov 2027 and Aug 2028.
- Preferred minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Strong academic aptitude, quantitative skills, and strategic thinking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Interest in global financial markets and commodities sector preferred.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of financial derivatives and global energy markets is a plus.
- Background in accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming.
- Integrity, attention to detail, assertiveness, initiative, leadership, and teamwork.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in teams.
