Geopolitical Policy Strategist - Global Affairs (Winter & Summer Internship)

About the role

Winter and summer internship with BAM’s Global Affairs team, examining how geopolitical developments influence financial markets and investment strategies. Based in New York, the intern will research policy, monitor regulatory developments, assess geopolitical risks across asset classes, and translate global events into actionable investment insights.

Responsibilities

• Identify geopolitical catalysts that may move financial markets.
• Conduct policy research, market sentiment analysis, and alternative geopolitical data collection.
• Develop frameworks for monitoring geopolitical risk across equities, fixed income, credit, and other assets.
• Monitor developments in Congress, the Supreme Court, US agencies, and regulators.
• Synthesize US and EU regulatory efforts affecting financial and other key sectors.
• Conduct outreach to the geopolitical expert network and support Global Affairs priorities.

Work Arrangement

• Report to the Chief Global Affairs Officer in BAM’s New York office.
• In-person internship opportunity available during both winter and summer.
• Work part-time for 20 hours weekly from January through May, then full-time from June through August.
