Year-round; full-time during summer at 37.5–40 hours per week and part-time during semesters at 15–20 hours per week.
About the role
Baird’s Capital Markets Compliance intern designs, develops, and tests regulatory technology data solutions supporting Equity Capital Markets, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Fixed Income, and Public Finance. The role combines SQL, Python, and potentially Power BI with compliance-focused business analysis in a hybrid Milwaukee-based arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Understand how compliance data affects business and firmwide decision-making through internal partner collaboration.
- Identify and address critical business data problems supporting Compliance and Baird decisions.
- Participate in team meetings, discussions, and special projects with internal business partners.
- Create data solutions and visualizations using SQL, Python, and potentially Power BI.
Team Exposure
- Learn how laws, regulations, and ethical standards govern the financial services industry.
- Gain insight into Capital Markets businesses through a compliance perspective.
- Work with a team supporting Equity Capital Markets, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Fixed Income, and Public Finance.
Intern Program
- Gain real-world experience through hands-on projects, mentorship, networking, and professional development.
- Participate in intern events, including an Intern Welcome and Baird Gives Back Day.
- Work three days weekly in Baird’s downtown Milwaukee office and two days remotely.
