About the role

Join Baird's Securities Processing team as an intern to support securities transaction processing, risk management, and client asset safeguarding. Gain hands-on experience in brokerage operations and collaborate in a team-oriented environment in Milwaukee, WI.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing and clearing physical stock and book entry shares.
  • Support receipt, review, and maintenance of physical stock certificates and documentation.
  • Learn securities movement through financial systems with transfer agents and custodians.
  • Research and resolve transaction exceptions ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Gain exposure to brokerage operations, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and collaborate firm-wide for efficient customer service.

Internship Details

  • Full-time summer work: 37.5-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Part-time during school semesters: 15-20 hours per week.
  • Location: Downtown Milwaukee, WI office.
  • Start date: January 2027 or earlier.
  • Receive mentoring and training throughout the internship.
  • Work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Anticipated graduation date May 2028 or later.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with initiative and proactive work approach.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong client service, critical thinking, and troubleshooting abilities.
