About the role
Summer 2027 Public Finance internship in Baird’s downtown Louisville office. The intern supports bankers through market research, financial data collection, debt-profile maintenance, credit-analysis learning, deal-process assistance, proofreading, and client engagements. The full-time program runs Monday through Friday, 37.5–40 hours weekly, beginning in June 2027.
Role and Responsibilities
- Participate actively in team projects and complete meaningful tasks supporting Public Finance bankers.
- Conduct market research, analyze economic trends, and compile client financial and operating data.
- Support deal processes while following applicable industry rules and regulations.
- Learn debt structuring and credit analysis within Public Finance transactions.
- Maintain current client debt profiles and proofread written materials for accuracy and clarity.
- Answer inquiries, route calls appropriately, and attend client-facing engagements with Public Finance bankers.
Public Finance Team
- The team provides underwriting, advisory, placement agent, and consulting services for public and nonprofit-sector financing needs.
- Interns gain firsthand experience partnering with clients and working closely with Public Finance bankers.
