Internship – Private Wealth Management (Charlotte, NC Summer 2027)

About the role

Baird’s Charlotte Private Wealth Management summer internship offers undergraduate students hands-on experience supporting Financial Advisors and their teams. Interns contribute to client preparation, financial planning, research, administration and marketing while developing professional relationships through mentorship, networking, professional development and collaborative firmwide events. Full-time attendance begins June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Advisor projects, including report reviews and research.
• Prepare for client meetings and presentations.
• Assist with financial planning and market research.
• Handle administrative tasks, calls and basic client questions.
• Process paperwork and documents.
• Contribute to branch marketing initiatives and other projects as needed.

Program Experience

• Gain real-world experience and apply classroom knowledge in Private Wealth Management.
• Receive mentorship and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Attend networking activities, firmwide events, Intern Welcome and Baird Gives Back Day.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with finance, business or a related field preferred.
• Have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Demonstrate interest in financial services and a career in Private Wealth Management.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and associates.
• Manage multiple priorities with strong organization, attention to detail and timely delivery.
• Show motivation, proactivity, strategic thinking and commitment to learning.

Work Arrangement

• Work full time during the summer, 37.5–40 hours weekly.
• Work Monday through Friday in Baird’s Charlotte, North Carolina office.
• Be available to start in June 2027.
• Applicants requiring current or future employment visa sponsorship are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an office setting is preferred.
