Investment Management Operations Summer Intern

About the role

Summer internship supporting investment management operations across middle- and back-office functions in Nashville. Interns complete business-critical projects, develop operational skills, receive mentoring, and may present their work to senior Operations and Technology executives. Placements support derivatives, portfolio administration, reference data, private clients, alternatives, guidelines, and operational risk.

Role and Responsibilities

• Complete a business-critical project while developing knowledge and skills relevant to investment management operations.
• Support front-office teams, portfolio management, custodian banks, vendors, and regional operations across global markets.
• Potentially support derivatives processing, client guideline monitoring, account administration, or private client operations.
• Potentially maintain reference data, including security setup, pricing, corporate actions, class actions, and accounts.
• Potentially support private credit, securitized mortgage, alternative investment infrastructure, automation, and complex fund structures.
• Potentially develop risk indicators, strengthen controls, coordinate escalation, and support operational risk mitigation initiatives.

Internship Experience

• Receive a mentor supporting firm assimilation and providing career advice throughout the internship.
• Present completed work to a committee of senior Operations and Technology executives after successful internship completion.
• Participate in firmwide onboarding, asset management and capital markets introduction, career planning, and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Candidate for a December 2026 or May/June 2027 bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related fields.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
