About the role
Summer internship on AllianceBernstein’s U.S. Retail Sales Desk within Strategic Sales & Service. Interns learn investment management, client service, business development, and sales while supporting wholesalers, analyzing competitors and data, managing territories, and developing communication and problem-solving skills through training, mentoring, networking, and senior-leader sessions.
Team and Role
- Join Strategic Sales & Service, supporting mutual fund and separately managed account distribution in the U.S. retail channel.
- Work with internal and external wholesalers to support sales, servicing, client needs, and investment product distribution.
- Gain exposure to the investment product lifecycle, from idea generation and market research through messaging and distribution.
Responsibilities
- Develop processes with internal and external wholesalers to help the team operate effectively.
- Conduct competitive analysis and generate data clients can use to monitor and adjust investments.
- Support territory management by helping organize information and activities.
- Interpret large datasets to execute actionable sales campaigns.
Training and Development
- Complete formal onboarding and training covering capital markets, AB products, services, procedures, policies, and consultative selling.
- Participate in mentoring, networking, social events, career planning, and sessions with senior leaders.
- Develop communication, networking, problem-solving, business development, client service, and sales skills.
Requirements
- Be a Spring 2027 bachelor’s degree candidate in business, finance, economics, data science, mathematics, liberal arts, or similar.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
- Be detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Show professionalism, motivation, initiative, client focus, and intellectual curiosity about retail investment management and capital markets.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Be willing to complete the SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licensing exams for potential full-time consideration.
Schedule and Conditions
- Be available to work full-time from June through August without conflicting academic classes or other employment.
- Successfully complete a thorough background check if selected.
- A full-time return offer, if made, would have a July 2027 start date.
