Akuna Capital offers a 10-week summer internship for Hardware Engineer Interns on the FPGA Team in Chicago. Interns design and implement solutions for low latency trading systems, working alongside experienced engineers and presenting their projects at program end.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Join the FPGA Team to design and implement hardware solutions for trading systems.
  • Collaborate with Hardware and C++ Software Engineers on complex problems.
  • Use cutting-edge technology for high-performance, low latency systems.
  • Take full ownership of a project and present accomplishments at program end.
  • Contribute to automated trading algorithms impacting company performance.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Graduating by August 2029 with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on first day, including F-1 students with CPT, OPT, or STEM.
  • No prior finance or trading experience required; training provided.

Desired Qualities

  • Knowledge of digital logic circuit design using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to react quickly and accurately to changing market conditions.
  • Can create easily understood, testable designs adaptable to market changes.
  • Passion for innovation and building systems from the ground up.
