Network Engineer I
Akuna Capital seeks a Network Engineer I to join its IT Infrastructure team in Chicago. The role involves network configuration, troubleshooting, and support in a fast-paced electronic trading environment. Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience and a relevant bachelor's degree.

Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Trading, IT Infrastructure, and Development teams on network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Provide daily support for network and application environments, including port configuration and cabling.
- Offer evening and weekend support; travel to data centers as needed.
- Evaluate and improve infrastructure technology with other engineers.
- Design, implement, and manage WAN/LAN networks supporting global trading platforms.

Candidate Requirements
- 2-3 years of professional network engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI stack, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with Juniper, Arista, or Cisco network equipment.
- Knowledge of switching, firewalls, STP, VLANs, VPNs, ACLs, multicast routing.

Additional Skills
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Desire to obtain CCNA or CCNP certification.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Familiarity working with multiple vendors.

Compensation and Benefits
- Minimum base salary starts at $110,000 per Illinois Equal Pay Act.
- Eligible for discretionary performance bonus.
