Accounting Intern (Term-Time, Part-Time)

About the role

Part-time Accounting Intern opportunity for a student pursuing accounting, finance, or a related degree. Based in Akuna Capital’s Chicago office during the academic term, the role provides hands-on experience supporting reconciliations, month-end close, audit activities, accounting records, discrepancy resolution, and ad hoc Finance team projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end close through journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and propose solutions before escalating issues to a manager.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support external audits and complete ad hoc Finance team projects.

Work Arrangement

• Work approximately 15 hours per week in Akuna Capital’s Chicago office during the academic term.
• Work directly with experienced accountants while learning how Finance operates within a global trading firm.
